| The work you are about to view is the culmination of the
blending of two cultures, European and American. Europe forged
the foundation, the upbringing in the Old world, with classical
Greek & Roman philosophy & artistic ideals. America,
then provided the heavy bolts of adulthood with its multi
cultural diversity. Combining the wildly opposing extremes
in the Bronx & Manhattan…. Beauty & filth, sophistication
& danger, the net result is quintessentially American.
I acquired my formal education via the Academy of Fine
Arts in Rome, upon graduation I set immediately out on my
long-planned move to New York City. The move impacted my
art as well as myself. After such long exposure to the extremes
of antiquity came exposure to the extremely modern. Renaissance
aesthetics and classical western humanist ideals were now
pounded by the grinding realities of modern day New York.
Beauty, gloominess and danger collide with the once purely
classical sensibility. The purity of techniques remains,
but in support of a brand new vision. My main objective
is to be loyal to my passion and keep pursuing it professionally.
